Vocational Training
ICE WaRM provides enterprises and individuals with vocational programmes designed to further develop workplace-specific competencies. Using a mix of theoretical and practical techniques, vocational training programmes can be tailored to suit any interests from general to specialist water management or workplace topics. Vocational training units are offered at various locations around Australia for local, national and visiting international organisations focused on achieving a competitive advantage in water-related areas.
In-service Training and Refresher Programmes
Water industry employees, manufacturers and service providers can upgrade and refresh their knowledge and skills while working. In-service programmes are designed to take place within the context and environment of your business to ensure the new skills gained are of maximum relevance. ICE WaRM can also assist with training needs assessments and can tailor in-service programmes to suit institutional and individual career advancement.
Study Tours and Industry Site Visits
Study tours aimed at showcasing Australia’s unique approaches to water management are conducted at learning centres and on-site across Australia at any time during the year. ICE WaRM can arrange and tailor study tours relevant to specific areas of interest that demonstrate emerging technologies in water-related fields, for example water quality testing and treatment technologies, the development of wetlands, water recycling and re-use systems.
Professional Development Programmes
ICE WaRM offers a Professional Development Programme for international groups to access Australia’s unique capabilities in water management practices. Each programme is tailored in duration and content to meet specific client needs, and can include, for example, components of English language training, academic studies, short courses, industry placements and technical study tours.
ICE WaRM is the principal facilitator in this initiative that actively supports the international effort to engage in ‘trans-boundary’ education and collaboration between countries facing similar challenges in water resources management.
ICE WaRM offers short award and non-award courses in water, as either an unstructured one-off programme aimed at satisfying an immediate business requirement, or structured as part of a longer-term training initiative. In addition to focusing on industry specific skills, short courses completed through ICE WaRM can be credited towards formal qualifications within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF). In this way, short courses can also provide a pathway to university and higher degrees.
ICE WaRM brings together Australia’s leading education and training providers to offer tailored award and non-award (short) courses, study tours, refresher programmes and industrial site visits for interest and industry groups throughout the year.
