Research
ICE WaRM fosters and facilitates collaboration between leading water-related research organisations, to aid research individuals and institutions in achieving their goals. Whether the interest is in the area of pure, applied or industry-based research, the Centre acts as a broker to its partner agencies and provides seamless interdisciplinary and cross-institutional access.
The collaboration of researchers and institutions via ICE WaRM is aimed at improving and increasing water research. The Centre has the capacity and resources to coordinate and market any water research, whether it is in the field of pure or applied investigation, science and technology, infrastructure, finance or economics, to name a few.
The Centre is willing to encourage the broadest spectrum of water-related research. Current areas of interest amongst existing partners and associates cover topics ranging from water use and conservation, urban and environmental water quality, surface and groundwater, dams and hydrology, rivers and estuaries. For further information, visit the newsletter and brochures page to download our research brochure.
Scope
The Australian Government initiative for ICE WaRM is through the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST), in common with Cooperative Research Centres (CRC), though it is not a CRC. The Centre is an established, independent legal entity which can offer an umbrella of support, collaborative networks and other benefits for research groups and institutions seeking to further their research projects and proposals. Amongst its facilities, ICE WaRM will include an online journal to publish refereed and other academic papers in water-related fields.
