This free seminar introduced siphonic roof drainage design principles and applications. Siphonic roof drainage design systems are a revolution in roof and building design technology which utilise the height of a commercial building to drive the flow of water, maximising the efficiency of the system and moving it at velocities of up to 8 m/s. These systems enable water to be directed to any desirable location, greatly assisting with harvest and reuse strategies.
The advantages of using this innovative technology include significant cost and time savings, as well as savings in resources use and reliability. Numerous eminent buildings around Australia utilise this technology including the Adelaide and Sydney International Airports, all IKEA buildings and the ANZ Stadium (formally known as Stadium Australia).
This seminar was facilitated by ICE WaRM and presented by the University of South Australia
