The International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM) brings together a national network of education institutions and industry bodies to deliver a diverse range of high quality programmes. This award-winning suite of water resources management programmes and courses has been developed by ICE WaRM in conjunction with its partners. The programme is targeted at current working professionals seeking to upgrade and update knowledge and skills, as well as recent graduates planning to undertake postgraduate studies leading to a career in the water industry.

Postgraduate Programmes
The ICE WaRM Nested Masters Programme offers postgraduate study at three levels:- Master of Water Resources Management
- Graduate Diploma in Water Resources Management
- Graduate Certificate in Water Resources Management
These programmes offer a unique blend of cross-institutional and cross-faculty study providing students with access to a wide range of expertise, resources and state-of-the-art research facililties in the broad field of water resources management. This collaborative programme offers a wide selection of specialised coursework electives and flexible study options enabling students to create a programme of study that meets their individual needs.
Content and Structure
The Nested Masters programme is structured as follows. While the programmes articulate in an upward direction, there is the option to exit at any of the three points, as shown below.
Step One
Complete the following four core courses:|

Stream Specialisations
From 2009, ICE WaRM and its partner universities will collaboratively offer six stream specialisations. A specialisation is relevant to those enrolled in the Graduate Diploma or Master of Water Resources Management.Students are encouraged to choose their stream specialisation and 'home institution' prior to enrolling in the programme. In order to choose a home institution, the following aspects should be considered:
- Stream specialisation availability - check your preferred stream is offered.
- Course offerings - ensure you have browsed the university websites and read the course outlines.
- Delivery mode offering: consider whether the delivery mode and location is suitable (ie on campus or off campus).

Delivery Mode Options
ICE WaRM's programmes offer a range of flexible delivery options, for both the core courses and coursework electives. In Semester 2, 2008 ICE WaRM launched the core courses via distance (external) delivery mode, allowing students from any location in Australia or overseas to study the programme. Core courses are also offered in semester mode.Distance (External) Mode
Students are now able to enroll in any ICE WaRM programme via distance mode at one of three partner universities, in a selection of stream specialisations.

Core courses and certain coursework electives are offered in the following modes:

Access Grid is a high-tech interactive internet conferencing teaching medium whereby all five partner universities join a virtual classroom, face-to-face in real time. Course materials and lecturer and student interactions are supported via a secure student portal. |
| Intensive* (Internal & External) |
Intensive delivery comprises 3-5 days of teaching plus assessment, and meets the needs of working professionals |
| Distance (External) |
Delivery allows full flexibility for the student to study anytime, anywhere. Course materials and lecturer and student interaction are supported via a secure student portal. Students receive materials via post. |
*For core courses, intensive delivery is subject to minimum numbers.
