Background
ICE WaRM is pleased to announce a new graduate student mobility project, funded through the Australian Federal Government- Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations and the European Union. This project provides a mechanism to share best practice between Australian and the European Union (EU) universities, and to improve global understanding of the importance of sustainable water resources management.
Long-term outcomes arising from this project could include joint Masters and/or PhD programmes, and joint Training and Professional Development Programmes between the participating universities in the EU and Australia, as well as joint research programmes.
Studying overseas is an excellent way to experience different cultures and international perspectives, meet new people, as well as offering study in areas that may not be available in the home institution. It is also an asset on job applications after graduation.
Student exchange overview
Postgraduate students who are currently enrolled in water-relevant study with ICE WaRM’s partner universities will be accepted for a period of five or ten months at any one of the participating EU universities.
Also, opportunities are available for postgraduate students who are currently enrolled in water-relevant study with a participating EU university will be accepted for a period of five or ten months at any one of the participating ICE WaRM partner universities in Australia.
All courses will be presented in English in all participating universities.
During the exchange, participating students will be able to either take classes in relevant aspects of water resources management, or undertake a period of research at the partner institution.
Please note that it is up to the student to decide on and apply for appropriate courses, apply for the scholarships, enrol at the host university, organise visas, travel and accommodation arrangements. An academic staff member at each participating university will, in time, be assigned to answer queries about a period of study abroad. In addition, there should be an administrative member of staff available at each university for non-academic queries, such as visa process requirements. Currently, there is a single coordinator for all participating Australian universities and a single coordinator for participating EU universities - see 'Contacts' section below for details.
For more information on the participating universities and the courses available (please note that the final course prospectus is subject to change as they are not yet finalised at all participating universities) please click on the links below.
