Focusing on Key Partner Education Requirements

ICE WaRM is staying closely in touch with the continuing needs of its partners and stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region with a series of consultation visits.

Ian Reid Joins the ICE WaRM Team

Dr Ian Reid has joined the ICE WaRM team as Education Services Manager.

In this senior role, Ian will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of all ICE WaRM’s education and training, including the nested Masters programme and short courses.

14 International Students Win ICE WaRM Scholarship

Fourteen international students have been offered full or partial scholarships to start ICE WaRM’s Master of Water Resources Management programme in Semester Two 2009.

The students come from Eritrea, Iran, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Vietnam and Canada.

ICE WaRM Outlines Water Career Opportunities

ICE WaRM Project Coordinator Peter Moss was a prominent speaker at the Riding the Wave of Water careers seminar for young water professionals in Darwin in April.

Adelaide Photographer Wins Watershed Art Prize

Living Labs Highlights River Recovery Priorities

One of the latest in ICE WaRM’s Living Laboratories series has turned the spotlight on determining priorities to help rivers recover from drought and reduced water flows.

Living Labs Focus on Fleurieu Peninsula Wetlands

A recent Living Laboratories event Wetland Systems on the Fleurieu Peninsula brought together conservationists, government agency staff and researchers to develop a program design for research to achieve better understanding of the hydrology, the impact of increased environmental flows on ecological health and the production of local landholdings in the Fleurieu Wetlands.

V & E Seminar by Bureau Expert Returning From USA

In May, ICE WaRM was proud to host Dr Renee Kidson (Bureau of Meteorology) at a free seminar titled 'Improving California’s Water Supply Reliability,through Portfolio Management'

Applications Open for Master of Water Res Mgmt

Applications are open for Semester One 2010 entry to the nested Master programme, which includes the new Water Planning stream that was launched at the beginning of the academic year.

The new stream in Water Planning has been developed in association with the National Water Commission and is offered by ICE WaRM’s partner universities - the University of Adelaide, Deakin University, the University of South Australia, CQUniversity and Flinders University.

Domestic Scholarships - Applications Now Open

Scholarship applications for domestic students studying the Water Planning stream of ICE WaRM’s Graduate Diploma in Water Resources Management are now open.

The scholarships, offered by ICE WaRM in conjunction with the National Water Commission, are for a Semester One 2010 start.

The scholarships are targeted at regional and disadvantaged groups and cover tuiton fees.

Applications close 30th October 2009.

Applications are open for students wanting to take part in the ICE WaRM-backed European Union-Australian water resources management exchange programme.

New international jobs are now available on the ICE WaRM website, linking water resources organisations with a wider range of skilled professionals.
