The most immediate and visible impacts of climate change will be on our water resources, and we will have to adapt our management of water to cope with greater risks and uncertainties.

YRCC Leaders Complete Australian Studies


The 19-strong Yellow River Conservancy Commission (YRCC) study group has flown back to China at the end of its highly successful seven-month Professional Development Programme in Australia.

The group of emerging leaders from the YRCC finished its programme in late August with a 10-day study tour of key water resources sites in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.

Venice Lagoon Contamination Falling Says Professor


The water quality in and around Venice is becoming cleaner, but there are still plenty of opportunities for improvement, according to Professor Bruno Pavoni from the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Venice.

Join ICE WaRMs Industry Placement Partnerships


Public and private water industry organisations can support ICE WaRM’s important water resources management programmes by offering industry placements to Australian and international professionals involved in high-level training programmes.

Typically, Australian students eligible for placements will be studying ICE WaRM’s Master of Water Resources Management Programme and planning to work on an industry project as part of their degree for at least six months.

October Deadline for Domestic Scholarships


Australian-based students enrolled in the Water Planning specialisation stream of ICE WaRM’s Graduate Diploma in Water Resources Management have until the end of October to apply for scholarships.

The scholarships, administered by ICE WaRM and funded by the National Water Commission, start in Semester One 2010.

Applications Open for Student Exchange to Europe


Applications are open for students wanting to take part in the ICE WaRM-managed European Union-Australian water resources management exchange programme.

The scheme gives 90 students the opportunity to further their water-related studies overseas.
