This special programme for policy-level officials addressed the growing challenges in sustainable water management in Sub-Saharan Africa, stimulating advanced leadership, lateral thinking and innovation through an intensive, multi-mode and multi-country high-level short programme. Through the programme, Fellows’ ability to lead was further enhanced – at a critical time for the sustainable management of water resources in Sub-Saharan Africa, when change, new challenges and the need and opportunity for regional and international cooperation were rapidly accelerating. The programme was highly successful in all areas by supporting learning of new knowledge and skills, sharing of practices, development of skills and establishing networks.
