New leadership – exciting future

Darryl Day will lead the International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM) as Managing Director.

The Chair of the ICE Warm Board, the Hon. Karlene Maywald, advised ICE WaRM Shareholders on Monday, 16th October, that Mr Day had been appointed as Managing Director at an exciting time for ICE WaRM as it builds on past success and embraces new opportunities.

Mr Day said the responses from partners and clients he has consulted as interim Managing Director have been enthusiastic.

“ICE WaRM’s programmes, especially in South Asia and through The Australian Water School, are highly valued,” he said. “Importantly for ICE WaRM there is exceptionally strong interest in increased collaboration and partnering in the water sector – a key value of ICE WaRM and its staff.

“I am very passionate about creating value through partnerships which encourage the Australian water sector to work together strategically and engage internationally as a team. Collaboration brings greater value to the global challenges on water policy, practice and science”.

“The challenges are many and varied in addressing the Sustainable Development Goals, both in Australia, and internationally, but substantial advancement towards the goals will only be possible by combining our knowledge and experiences and finding new ways to work together.

“I am honoured to lead the dedicated team at ICE WaRM.”

Mr Day will commence in the role as of 1 November 2016.
